The Great & Powerful – Stories from the Community
Thursday, October 29
Doors: 5:30 pm || Show: 6:30 pm
$10
We all have a story.  What’s yours?
Please join us at the Flying Monkey Theatre for a new community spoken word event, The Great and Powerful, Stories from Our Community.

The Great & Powerful is an evening of true stories told live on stage by members of our community, inspired by a shared theme. Every storyteller shares a personal experience in their own voice—revealing moments that are moving, thought-provoking, unexpected, funny or deeply personal. Join us for an unforgettable evening at the Flying Monkey celebrating the power of authentic storytelling and the real human connections that unite us.

The event is open to all ages, hosting both prose and poetry entries of not more than 5 minutes.   Come prepared to speak and drop your name in the wizard’s hat.  Fifteen names will be chosen at random to share a story based on the theme of the event.  The first two Great and Powerful events will be:

  • Thu, Sept 17 at 6:30 PM – Theme: “Change”
  • Thu, Oct 29 at 6:30 PM – Theme: “Fear”

Join us at the Flying Monkey Theater to explore, write, be brave, share, speak, or support someone else and connect with real humans on a real live stage!
